NATIONAL  HANDLOOM DAY COMPETITION
National Handloom Day is observed on 7th of August every year, celebrating the incredible Indian Handloom heritage spanning the length and breadth of India. This day is celebrated to honour our weavers and to provide momentum to the Indian handloom industry. 95% of the world’s handwoven fabrics belong to India.
On this special day, we should proudly celebrate our rich heritage of handlooms by wearing handwoven garments to empower and recognize the craftmanship and dedication of our weavers.
We invite you to join us at the celebration of National hand loomday – A piece of Art – Kalavishkar Competition on 5th August, Friday at 16.30hrs at Consulate General of India, Frankfurt.
Always promote Indian Handlooms proudly on every platform in Germany. And now play an active role- the spotlight is on you….
Show us your favourite handcrafted piece or handwoven garment and tell us its story. Who wove it ? Where was it woven or handcrafted? How sustainable is it? Why is it your pride ? Your garment definitely has a soul and story and we are curious to know your story. Time for each contestant is 3 Minutes
The criteria to win the prizes are: sustainability, workmanship and your story behind it that moves the jury.
