Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla has arrived in Lisbon on his way to Brasilia, where he will participate in the 11th BRICS Parliamentary Forum.

India and Portugal share a warm and enduring partnership, grounded in mutual respect for democracy, the rule of law, and inclusive governance. During his stay, Shri Birla is scheduled to meet H.E. Dr. José Pedro Aguiar-Branco, President of the Assembleia da República of Portugal. The meeting aims to further strengthen parliamentary ties between the two nations, with discussions expected to focus on enhancing democratic dialogue, deepening cooperation on global challenges, and fostering institutional exchanges between their legislative bodies.
