Vikram Doraiswami, High Commissioner of India to the United Kingdom, was conferred the prestigious Freedom of the City of London by the Lady Mayor of the City of London.
One of London’s oldest and most distinguished civic honours, the recognition reflects the growing strength and new directions in the India–UK partnership, particularly across trade, finance, and economic cooperation. It also highlights the vast global opportunities emerging from the deepening relationship between the two nations.
In recent years, the partnership has seen several important milestones, including the landmark Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement discussions and the collaboration between NITI Aayog and the City of London to launch the India–UK Infrastructure Financing Bridge, aimed at strengthening investment and financing for infrastructure development.
The honour underscores the expanding cooperation and shared vision between India and the United Kingdom in shaping future economic and global partnerships.
