Indian orthodox church in Germany in Vaticancity

🕊️ The Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church participated in the Inaugural Mass of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, the newly elected Roman Pontiff, held at St. Peter’s Square, Vatican City.

Representing the Church were:
🔹 His Eminence Zachariah Mar Nicholovos – Diocesan Metropolitan, Northeast American Diocese
🔹 His Eminence Abraham Mar Stephanos – Diocesan Metropolitan, UK, Europe & Africa Diocese
🔹 Rev. Fr. Aswin Zefrin Fernandis – Secretary, Ecumenical and Inter-Church Relations Department

This historic occasion marks the formal commencement of Pope Leo XIV’s Petrine Ministry as the Bishop of Rome and spiritual leader of the Roman Catholic Church.

The presence of the Malankara Orthodox delegation reflects the Church’s ongoing commitment to ecumenical fellowship, dialogue, and its enduring relationship with the Roman Catholic Church.

His Holiness Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma Mathews III, Catholicos of the East & Malankara Metropolitan, had earlier conveyed prayerful greetings and fraternal wishes to the new Roman Pontiff on behalf of the entire Malankara Church.
