The UN Climate Change Global Innovation Hub (UGIH), an initiative of the UNFCCC Secretariat based in Bonn, organized its Systemic Innovation Workshop on Climate Change on 24 June 2025 at the GIZ Campus in Bonn, Germany. The workshop is part of UGIH’s global series aimed at fostering innovation to address climate change and sustainability challenges.
Consul General of India, Mr. B.S. Mubarak, participated in the workshop and delivered the keynote address. In his remarks, he highlighted India’s climate and environmental initiatives and emphasized the country’s dynamic innovation and startup ecosystem, particularly in the fields of cleantech and climate tech.

Keynote speeches were also delivered by Mr. Hans-Jürgen Petrauschke, Country President of Rhein-Kreis Neuss, and Prof. Dr. Phoebe Koundouri from the SDSN Global Climate Hub. Mr. Perumal Arumugam, Manager at UNFCCC, presented insights on the opportunities under Article 6.4 of the Paris Agreement.
The workshop provided a valuable platform for engagement with innovators and solution providers committed to climate action.
