India Sends $2 Million Worth of Medical Aid to Nepal Under Neighbourhood First Policy.

Reaffirming India’s unwavering commitment to its #NeighbourhoodFirst policy, the Government of India has dispatched a significant consignment of humanitarian assistance to Nepal. Responding promptly to a request from the Government of Nepal, India has sent medicines and vaccines valued at approximately USD 2 million to support the treatment and care of patients suffering from Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Disease.

As part of this vital initiative, the first tranche, comprising 17,030 vials of vaccines specifically for the immunization of patients with Thalassemia, was formally handed over to Nepalese authorities. This important gesture highlights the close ties of friendship and cooperation between India and Nepal and reflects India’s steadfast commitment to promoting health security and wellbeing in the region.

Through such collaborative efforts, India continues to strengthen its partnerships with neighbouring countries, promoting a spirit of solidarity, mutual support, and regional prosperity.
