India–Netherlands Launch Hydrogen Fellowship & IIT–Groningen Partnership for Green Energy 🇮🇳🇳🇱
Today marked an important milestone in India–Netherlands science and technology cooperation with the launch of the India–Netherlands Hydrogen Fellowship Programme and the signing of an MoU between 19 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the University of Groningen to establish an academic cooperation framework in green energy and hydrogen research.
The event was graced by Mr. Huib Mijnarends, Deputy Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to India; Prof. Jouke de Vries, President of the Board, University of Groningen; Prof. Dhirendra S. Katti, Director IIT Goa; Prof. Venkappayya R. Desai, Director IIT Dharwad; along with senior leadership from other IITs.
This initiative strengthens international collaboration in green hydrogen and clean energy, promotes researcher mobility, and advances capacity development aligned with India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission and clean energy priorities.
The programme is expected to catalyse deeper collaborative R&D and long-term institutional partnerships, contributing to a sustainable and resilient energy future.
