The G7 (Group of Seven) is an intergovernmental organization consisting of seven of the world’s largest advanced economies: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The European Union also participates in G7 meetings. The G7 addresses global issues such as economic policy, international security, and technological innovation, with an emphasis on promoting stability, prosperity, and sustainable development.

The G7 Ministerial Meeting on Industry and Technology Innovation, held in 2024 in Rome, focused on how advancements in technology and industry can drive economic growth and solve global challenges. Topics often include the regulation of emerging technologies, digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), and green energy transitions. Representatives from G7 countries and invited nations, such as India, participate to discuss collaborative approaches to innovation and industrial policy.

These meetings are part of the G7’s broader goal of fostering cooperation among leading economies to address pressing global issues.
