Secretary (West) Sibi George called on Mr. Matias Marttinen, Minister of Employment, Republic of Finland, during his visit to Helsinki.
The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to review ongoing cooperation and explore new avenues to strengthen the India–Finland partnership in the fields of skill development, mobility of professionals, and innovation-led growth. Both sides discussed the growing contributions of the Indian diaspora in Finland, who continue to play an important role in bridging cultures and enhancing bilateral cooperation.
The discussions also highlighted the potential for collaboration under Finland’s Talent Boost Program, aimed at attracting and integrating skilled professionals from around the world. Secretary (West) underlined India’s commitment to facilitating knowledge exchange, innovation partnerships, and talent mobility that contribute to mutual growth and shared prosperity.
Both dignitaries reaffirmed their shared vision to deepen people-to-people linkages and build a forward-looking framework that supports dynamic workforce exchanges, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development between India and Finland.
