๐ฎ๐ณ๐ค๐ณ๐ฟ Finance Minister Smt. @nsitharaman meets New Zealandโs Minister Dr. @drshaneretimp on sidelines of #FFD4 in Seville
Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, held a productive meeting with Dr. Shane Reti, New Zealandโs Minister for Science, Innovation and Technology, Universities, Statistics, and Pacific Peoples.
The two Ministers discussed deepening bilateral cooperation in key sectors such as defence, education, technology, and agriculture, reaffirming shared values rooted in democracy, rule of law, and strong people-to-people ties.
FM Sitharaman highlighted the exceptional global opportunities at GIFT-IFSC, including sectors like banking, bullion exchange, capital markets, FinTech, insurance and reinsurance, and invited greater engagement from New Zealand investors.
She underscored educational exchange as a vital pillar of IndiaโNew Zealand relations, with a large number of Indian students pursuing higher studies in New Zealand.
Dr. Reti agreed on the importance of strengthening education ties and shared New Zealandโs experience of working closely with Pacific communities.
FM Sitharaman also reiterated Indiaโs commitment to its partnership with Pacific Island Countries, and expressed interest in working with New Zealand through the Pacific Islands Forum to further regional cooperation.
