The Embassy of India in Brussels marked International Women’s Day with a special event held at the Chancery. Ambassador Saurabh Kumar, in his address, emphasized the growing importance of women in various sectors of Indian society, including their expanding roles in diplomacy. He acknowledged the significant contributions of women in shaping the nation’s progress and highlighted initiatives aimed at empowering women in different fields.
Mrs. Smriti Srivastav, the spouse of the Ambassador, also delivered a speech, in which she reflected on the day as an opportunity for empowerment, self-reflection, and celebration of the achievements of women globally. She encouraged women to continue pursuing leadership roles and acknowledged the need to support and uplift each other in every sphere. The event fostered a sense of solidarity and empowerment, focusing on both the strides made and the work that still needs to be done for gender equality.
