The Embassy marked the 77th Foundation Day of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) with a vibrant celebration highlighting India’s rich cultural heritage and its global cultural outreach.
Participants gained valuable insights into ICCR’s pivotal role in advancing India’s cultural diplomacy and strengthening civilizational connections worldwide. Alumni of the ICCR Scholarship Programme shared their personal experiences of studying in India and engaging with its diverse traditions and culture.
A captivating performance of Bharatanatyam added a cultural highlight to the evening, showcasing the elegance and depth of India’s classical arts.
In his remarks, the Ambassador emphasized the importance of mutual cultural understanding and highlighted ICCR’s significant contribution in promoting India’s culture and heritage across the world. The celebration held special significance as 2026 is being observed as the India–Spain Year of Culture, Tourism and AI, further strengthening cultural ties between India and Spain.
