India’s Voice at the G7: Advancing Global Governance & Connectivity 🇮🇳
At the G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting with invited partners, Dr. S. Jaishankar highlighted the urgent need for reforms in global governance. He underscored the importance of restructuring the United Nations Security Council, enhancing peacekeeping efficiency, and strengthening humanitarian supply chains.
He also brought attention to key concerns of the Global South, including energy challenges, fertiliser access, and food security.
In discussions on connectivity, EAM shared India’s perspective on the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor, noting that ongoing conflicts in West Asia reinforce the need for resilient trade corridors and supply chains.
India’s Free Trade Agreements with the European Union, European Free Trade Association, and the United Kingdom further enhance the potential of IMEC.
Appreciating the widespread support for this initiative, EAM reaffirmed India’s commitment to building stronger, more inclusive global partnerships.
