India in Germany (Consulate General of India, Frankfurt) represented at the cultural event ‘Chamayam 2024’ on 13 October, 2024 at Saalbau Depot Oberrad, Frankfurt. The event aimed to preserve, celebrate, and spread Kerala’s traditional arts and culture across Europe conducted its launching with primarily Mohiniyattam performances.
The event was jointly inaugurated by Shri Sathyanarayanan Parakkat, Consul and Kalasri Kalamandalam M S Gireesan, renowned artist from Kerala. The highlight of the programme was mesmerizing Mohiniyattam performances by Mrs Gayathri Vasudevan and her team members including Anjali Ajith, Gayathri Narayanan, Anagha Manoj and Sridevi Arjun. Recital of Swati Thirunal’s poems by Shri Kalamandalam Gireesan was a wonderful treat for those present. Mr Arun Somadathan’s cultural interactive session with Dr Janani Suresh Ram, Bharatnatyam dancer and Ms. Shany Mathew, Director Nisari Kalakshetra Mannheim shed light over various aspects of Dance, Drama and Music and spreading Indian art & culture in Europe.
The event was highly successful with the participation of large number of audience from Indian diaspora and German friends. Anjali George gave the welcome speech, and Gayathri Vasudevan delivered the vote of thanks.
