Victoria and India share a dynamic and thriving partnership, spanning trade, innovation, education, tourism, and sport, bringing remarkable economic and cultural benefits. Our state is also home to the largest Indian diaspora in Australia, whose contributions enrich our society and diversity.
Recently, I had the pleasure of joining Nina Taylor MP and Matt Fregon MP, along with business and community leaders, to honour the outstanding service of outgoing Consul General Dr Sushil Kumar. His inspiring leadership, inclusive approach, and tireless efforts have strengthened bonds between Victoria and India and left a lasting impact on our community.
We wish Dr Kumar, his wife Mona, and their daughters all the best as they begin a new chapter. Thanks to his dedication, the Victoria-India partnership continues to grow stronger, creating opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and shared prosperity.
