Championing Inclusion Through Sport | Gothia Cup 2025 🇮🇳🤝🇸🇪
Ambassador Anurag Bhushan attended the vibrant Opening Ceremony of Gothia Cup 2025 in Gothenburg, Sweden—the world’s largest youth football tournament that brings together young athletes from around the globe through the unifying spirit of sport.
This year, India is proudly represented by two remarkable teams:
⚽ The Haryana Football Association U-15 Girls’ Team, making their international debut, and
⚽ The Special Olympics Bharat Boys’ Team, returning as defending champions and powerful advocates for inclusion.
Ambassador Bhushan had the privilege of meeting the Indian delegation, led by Dr. Mallika Nadda, President of Special Olympics Bharat and Chairperson of the Asia Pacific Advisory Council, whose dedication to inclusive sports continues to inspire. He also expressed appreciation to Mr. Rickard Gustafson, CEO of SKF Group, for the impactful Meet the World initiative, and Mr. Mukund Vasudevan, SKF India & Southeast Asia, for nurturing grassroots football talent in India.
He extended his warmest wishes to all participating teams and highlighted the timeless values that sport fosters—friendship, sportsmanship, and global understanding.
