Strengthening India–Germany Economic Partnership
Ambassador Ajit Gupte met Shri Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, on 08 January 2026 for a detailed and forward-looking discussion on bilateral economic cooperation.
During the meeting, the Ambassador underlined the robust and steadily expanding India–Germany economic partnership, highlighting its growing depth across manufacturing, technology, and services. Both sides exchanged views on leveraging complementary strengths to enhance industry linkages, promote innovation-led trade, and facilitate greater investment flows, particularly in emerging and high-growth sectors.
The discussions also focused on improving the ease of doing business, encouraging start-up and MSME collaboration, and strengthening cooperation in areas such as advanced manufacturing, sustainable technologies, skill development, and digital innovation. Emphasis was placed on fostering long-term partnerships that support resilient supply chains and inclusive economic growth.
The interaction reaffirmed the shared commitment of India and Germany to work closely with industry stakeholders and government institutions to unlock new opportunities and further elevate their strategic economic engagement.
