Ambassador Ajit Gupte paid an official visit to the Motherson Deutschland SAS automotive component assembly facility in Fredersdorf-Vogelsdorf on 13 November 2025, where he was given an in-depth overview of the company’s advanced manufacturing operations, technological capabilities, and its growing footprint within the German and European automotive value chain.
During the visit, the Ambassador underscored the immense potential for further strengthening India–Germany collaboration in the automotive sector, particularly between Indian component manufacturers and leading German OEMs. He highlighted the increasing role that Indian companies are playing in global automotive supply networks and emphasised the strong alignment between German engineering excellence and India’s expanding manufacturing ecosystem.
Ambassador Gupte also reiterated the opportunities that lie ahead for driving #MakeInIndia initiatives, especially in areas such as precision engineering, EV components, smart manufacturing solutions, and integrated assembly systems. He noted that India’s robust automotive component industry, supported by skilled talent and competitive production capabilities, offers German companies an ideal partner for co-development, co-innovation, and long-term B2B partnerships.
The discussions touched upon emerging trends in the global automotive landscape, including digitalisation, sustainability, green mobility and supply chain resilience. Both sides agreed that India and Germany are well-positioned to leverage their strengths and jointly shape the future of mobility through deeper engagement in design, R&D, engineering, manufacturing, and technology adoption.
The visit reaffirmed the shared commitment of both countries to accelerate innovation, foster high-quality industrial cooperation, and build a stronger, future-ready global automotive industry that contributes to growth, efficiency and sustainable development.
