Ambassador Ajit Gupte Meets Union Minister Piyush Goyal to Strengthen India–Germany Trade and Investment Relations

Ambassador of India to Germany, Ajit Gupte, called on Hon’ble Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, in New Delhi on 15 October 2026.

The meeting focused on further strengthening bilateral trade and investment cooperation between India and Germany. Discussions also covered the Minister’s upcoming visit to Berlin to participate in the Berlin Global Dialogue 2026 (#BGD2026).

Germany remains India’s largest trading partner within the European Union and one of its most significant investment partners, with approximately 2,200 German companies having invested in India.

The meeting highlighted the growing economic partnership between the two countries and their shared commitment to expanding trade, investment and business opportunities.
