World Meditation Day Observed in Berlin: A Moment of Inner Stillness
India in Germany (Embassy of India, Berlin) and ICCR in Germany – Indisches Kulturzentrum, TTC organized a special guided meditation session in collaboration with The Art of Living – Berlin to mark World Meditation Day.
Held in the serene setting of the Art of Living Happiness Oase, the session highlighted the importance of meditation in fostering inner stillness, balance, and overall wellbeing. Director, ICCR in Germany – Indisches Kulturzentrum, TTC, Ms. Trisha Sakhlecha, shared reflections on the significance of meditation and the need to create mindful spaces in today’s fast-paced world.
The session was led by Ms. Luisa Braun, a qualified teacher, and guided participants through gentle breathing techniques, mindfulness practices, and soothing meditation, offering a calm and reflective experience that nurtured clarity, emotional resilience, and inner balance.
World Meditation Day is observed on 21 December, coinciding with the winter solstice—the darkest day of the year—and symbolizes the journey from darkness to light. The Day was designated by the United Nations General Assembly on the initiative of India, which led and co-sponsored the resolution.
