๐ฎ๐ณ Celebrating India Day in Geelong, Victoria ๐ฎ๐ณ
India Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and vibrant participation by members of the Indian diaspora in Geelong, marking the first-ever India Day event in regional Victoria.
Organised under the Promotion of Cultural Ties with Diaspora (PCTD), with the support of the Diaspora Engagement Division, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, the celebration brought together nearly 600 attendees, including community members, leaders, and dignitaries.
The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Vivienne Vy Nguyen AM, Victorian Multicultural Commissioner; Ron Nelson, Deputy Mayor, along with Councillors Melissa Cadwell, Anthony Aitken, Andrew Katos, Eddy Kontelj, Rowan Story AM, and Chris Burson from the Geelong City Council.
Also present were Teli Kaur, Deputy Mayor, Ararat Rural City Council, and Shivali Chatley, City of Greater Bendigo, along with Indian community leaders and organisations.
The day featured captivating cultural performances from across North, South, East, and West India, beautifully reflecting Indiaโs rich heritage and the spirit of Unity in Diversity. The celebration also provided a valuable platform for community networking and cultural exchange.
