India Pavilion Inaugurated at Moscow International Book Fair 2025
The Guest of Honour Country – India Pavilion was formally inaugurated at the Moscow International Book Fair (MIBF) in the presence of distinguished dignitaries including Mr. Alexander Alimov from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, H.E. Mr. Vinay Kumar, Ambassador of India to Russia, Mr. Govind Jaiswal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Education, and Mr. Vladimir Viktorovich Grigoriev, Director, Ministry of Digital Development.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Milind Sudhakar Marathe, Chairman, NBT-India, followed by speeches from eminent guests and the launch of Russian translations of 22 NBT-India titles. The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Shri Yuvraj Malik, Director, NBT-India.
The inauguration featured the symbolic ribbon untying of the India Pavilion, after which the dignitaries toured the stalls and Experience Zone, interacted with authors and publishers, engaged with the media, and concluded the ceremony over High Tea.
Earlier, the Moscow International Book Fair was officially opened on the main stage, highlighting India’s special role as Guest of Honour. On behalf of the guest country, the Ambassador of India to Russia and the Joint Secretary, MoE addressed the gathering.
This year, over 60 Indian delegates, including authors, scholars, publishers, and officials, are participating in the fair, showcasing the richness and diversity of Indian literature and culture.
