World Hindi Day 2024: Celebrating the Global Significance of Hindi as the Third Most Spoken Language Join the Festivities on January 12th at the University of Hamburg

Ranking as the third-most spoken language globally, Hindi holds a significant position. The World Hindi Day honours the contributions of Hindi speakers, and understands the significance of the language. Hindi was first spoken in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on January 10, 1949. As per the Indian Constitution, Hindi in Devanagari script is one of the official languages of the country. Since 1975, the Ministry of External Affairs has consistently organised World Hindi Conferences in countries such as the United Kingdom, Mauritius, Trinidad and Tobago, the United States of America, and Fiji – all of which have substantial Hindi-speaking populations.
Join in at the World Hindi Day celebrations on 12th January 2024 at the Asien-Afriken Institut of the University of Hamburg at 4-30 pm.
