Independence Day Cup -gala festivites
Despite rainy and stormy weather, the enthusiasm and festivities of Indian community were visible as more than 40 teams competed in a nearly 6 days of rigorous sporting schedule. In the finals played yesterday, a cross section of Indian community participated not only supporting their respective teams but also showcasing culinary and cultural diversity of India.
Consul General and officers from the Consulate joined the concluding ceremony and gave away the prizes to the winners. Consul General highlighted the emphasis on unity in diversity in Indian cultural ethos and appreciated the community members, especially the office bearers of Hessen Cricket Academy e.V. inter alia including Shri Bimal Roy, Shri Kamal Vatsain, Shri Nirpesh Vikram and Shri Tarun Kalra for their untiring efforts to promote close bonding and friendship through sports and cultural activities as we commemorate Azadika Amrit Mahotsav.
