As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav ongoing celebrations of the 75th Anniversary of Independence of India

“Punjabi Mela 2022” in Hamburg (30 July 2022)
As part of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” / ongoing celebrations of the 75th Anniversary of Independence of India, the Punjabi Hockey Club, Hamburg in association with Consulate General of India, Hamburg organised the “Punjabi Mela 2022” on 30 July 2022 at the Stadtpark Hockeyplatz, Hamburg.
The highlight of the Mela was a Hockey Tournament in which four teams, namely, Punjab Hockey Club, Hamburg; Punjab Sports Club, Amsterdam; THC Altona and EMTV Elmshorn participated. In the finals, the Punjab Hockey Club, Hamburg defeated Punjab Sports Club, Amsterdam by 3-2 and won the tournament. The whole day programme also included a DJ, games for women and kids, like tug-of-war, kids race, etc. Consul General and other officials were among over 150 members from the Indian Punjabi Community who participated in the Mela and enjoyed Indian food and Punjabi Pop & Folk Music.
