New Guidelines for Traveller’s to Entry into Germany

Please note the special rules that apply to entry into Germany after spending time in an area that involve a particularly high risk of infection. These include regions with an especially high number of cases (high-incidence area) or regions in which distinct virus mutations are spreading (area of variant of concern). These areas are marked on the RKI’s list. Travellers from these areas must already get tested before starting their journey and present a negative test result to their carrier (for instance: the airline). This proof may also be demanded by the Federal Police when passing through entry control in Germany.
