Short film competition on behalf of 125 th anniversary celebrations of Suravaram Pratapa Reddy’s

To commemorate Suravaram Pratapa Reddy’s contribution to the people of India, Telangana culture department has made arrangements to celebrate his 125th birth anniversary on May 28 with great pomp and gaiety.

The ministry of culture kicked off the celebrations by inviting short-film enthusiasts, producers and directors to participate in the contest and bring to life on screen the life, works and struggle of one of Telangana’s beloved sons.

According to the rules established for the contest, short films should be based on the stories and dramas written by Suravaram Pratapa Reddy and must not be more than 30 minutes in duration. The films will be shortlisted and selected by an expert jury. All the selected short films will be screened at the Paidi Jairaj Preview Theatre in Ravindra Bharati at Hyderabad. The last date for entries is May 1, 2021.

Winners will be awarded cash prizes and citations in the month of May 2021. The best short-film will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 50,000 followed by Rs 40,000 and Rs 30,000 for the second and third best short-films. The best director will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 20,000, followed by Rs. 20,000 each for the best photographer, music director and editor.
